SSC CHSL Exam Syllabus

Exam Pattern for CHSL Exam

The paper for SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination consists of four sections and weight of each part is 50 marks.
These sections are General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude test, English Language and General awareness.
Duration for SSC CHSL exam is 120 minutes or 2 hours.
SSC CHSL paper will consist of objective type question only.

Tier II Descriptive Test

The Tier-II Paper of SSC CHSL will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks for the duration of 60 minutes.

Tier-III Typing /Skill Test

The SSC CHSL Tier-III Exam will be the Skill Test / Typing Test.

Preparation Tips for SSC CHSL Exam

Focus on Speed In SSC CHSL exam, there are [200] questions to solve in [120] minutes. So candidates must work on speed to solve questions in allotted time.
Syllabus Awareness When aspirants start preparing for SSC CHSL exam, they must have a clear idea about the aptitude questions asked in SSC CHSL exam.
Calculation SSC CHSL aptitude questions need more time in calculation, so candidates have to manage time for answering question and shortlist aptitude questions according to their merit.

Negative Marking

In SSC CHSL exam there will be negative marking also, 1/4 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Syllabus for SSC CHSL Exam

Section - 1: Quantitative Aptitude

Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time and work.
Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship.
Graphs of Linear Equations between numbers.
Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems).
Mensuration: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base.
Statistical Charts: Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar- diagram, Pie-chart.
Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles.
Trigonometry: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances (simple problems only) Standard Identities.
