IBPS RRB 2017 Selection Procedure
For the posts of Officers Scale I and Office Assistant (Multi-purpose) the examination will be two tier i.e. the online examination will be held in two phases, preliminary and main.
Office Assistant (Multi-purpose)
Candidates will be provisionally allotted on the basis of the marks obtained by them in the Main examination and the vacancies reported by the RRBs
Officers Scale I
Candidates who will qualify in preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear for Main examination and shortlisted candidates in the main examination will subsequently be called for a Common Interview.
Officers Scale II (Generalist and Specialists) and Scale III
Candidates will appear for a single online examination and shortlisted candidates in the single examination will subsequently be called for a Common Interview.
A candidate can apply for the Post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and can also apply for the Post of Officer.
However a candidate can apply for only one post in officer’s cadre i.e. for Officer Scale-I or Scale-II or Scale-III.
Candidates have to apply separately and pay fees / intimation charges separately for each applied post.

1st Step: Preliminary Exam (Objective Type) (80 Marks)
2nd Step: Main Exam (Objective Type) (200 Marks)
For Officer Scale-1
1st Step: Preliminary Exam (Objective Type) (80 Marks)
2nd Step: Main Exam (Objective Type) (200 Marks)
3rd Step: Interview (100 Marks)
For Officer Scale-2 (General Banking Officer) / Officer Scale-2 (Specialist Cadre) / Officer Scale-3

Preliminary Exam:
Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
Preliminary exam will be objective type and will be conducted online.
The question paper will have 80 questions for 80 marks and contains 2 sections namely (1) Reasoning (2) Numerical Ability.
Duration: Time allotted for the exam is 45 minutes.
Medium of Exam : Hindi/English

Officer Scale-I

Duration: Time allotted for the exam is 45 minutes.

Note- Candidates (for both posts) have to qualify in both the tests by securing minimum cut-off marks . Adequate number of candidates in each category, depending upon requirements, will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.
There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. If a question left blank, there will be no negative marking for that question.
Main Exam:
Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
Main exam will be objective type and will be conducted online.
The question paper will have 200 questions for 200 marks and contains 5 sections namely (1) Reasoning, (2) Numerical Ability, (3) General Awareness, (4) English & Hindi Language, (5) Computer Knowledge.
Time allotted for the exam is 2 hours.
There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. If a question left blank, there will be no negative marking for that question.
Officer Scale-I
Main exam will be objective type and will be conducted online.
The question paper will have 200 questions for 200 marks and contains 5 sections namely (1) Reasoning, (2) Quantitative Aptitude, (3) General Awareness, (4) English & Hindi Language, (5) Computer Knowledge.
Time allotted for the exam is 2 hours.
There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. If a question left blank, there will be no negative marking for that question.
Interview: Those candidates who qualify in the main examination will be called for interview round. The total marks allotted for interview is 100 marks.

Written exam will be objective type and will be conducted online.
The question paper will have 240 questions for 200 marks and contains 6 sections namely (1) Reasoning, (2) Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation, (3) Financial Awareness, (4) English & Hindi Language, (5) Computer Knowledge and (6) Professional Knowledge.
Time allotted for the exam is 2 hours 30 minutes.
There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. If a question left blank, there will be no negative marking for that question.
Interview: Those candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for the interview round. The total marks allotted for interview is 100 marks.

Written exam will be objective type and will be conducted online.
The question paper will have 200 questions for 200 marks and contains 5 sections namely (1) Reasoning, (2) Quantitative Aptitude& Data Interpretation, (3) Financial Awareness, (4) English & Hindi Language, (5) Computer Knowledge.
